The EASTERN COAL COUNCIL is a membership organization of
industries, businesses, educators, and elected officials who have joined
together for the purpose of promoting coal. The Coal Council was created
in 1979 to highlight COAL -- bringing together coal producers and coal
consumers - to build a bridge from the Eastern Coalfields/Central
Appalachia to the nation and to every foreign nation that is or has the
potential of being a consumer of Eastern Coal. The Council plays a
leading role in promoting coal as the right energy source for America's
future. Coal is an abundant and natural resource, and America has enough
coal to provide for its energy needs for centuries to come. Coal is
clearly the right energy for this country's future. The Eastern Coal
Council serves as a "chamber of commerce" for the energy industries. |
